2018 Christmas Toy Appeal

Filed under: Business Centre News — Marianne @ December 17, 2018

Stanlaw Abbey Development Trust has organised its annual toy appeal in aid of vulnerable and underprivileged children. As with previous years, there has been a fantastic response, so we would like to say a huge thank you to everyone for their donations as without this generosity, this would not have been possible.

Special thanks go to Jacobs Engineering on behalf of Urenco and to DHL Supply Chain for their large donations as can be seen in the images below. A big thank you to Charlie from Meadow Primary School and his mum Kelly for their donations.

A massive thank you for your generosity from Stanlaw Abbey Development Trust Toy Appeal

2017 is the amazing fifth year that Stanlaw Abbey Development Trust have organised their toy appeal in aid of vulnerable and underprivileged children. There has been a staggering response yet again and we would like to thank everyone who has been so generous. At a time when economically throughout the country things are getting tighter, people in the local area have rallied around and have so selflessly given presents, money, gift-wrap and time in order to make these children’s Christmas a little bit special.

This year DHL Supply Chain in North Road chose to nominate Stanlaw Abbey as their charity. Much to our delight some of their amazing staff rolled up in a massive van and proceeded to drop off sacks and sacks of toys for children of all ages.

And to prove it’s not just the adults, we have had help again this year from our youngest supporters Charlie and his little brother who have been magnificent; they have collected and donated several boxes of toys hoping that all the children we help will have a Happy Christmas.

With the help and generosity of people like these and many more, we have been able to donate over 900 wonderful gifts and selection boxes to children who would otherwise not have any presents to open on Christmas Day.

It is truly humbling to see such kindness coming from people from all walks of life.

Without your amazing generosity, none of this would be possible.

Thank you!

Ellesmere Port Christmas Toy Appeal 2016

Filed under: Stanlaw Abbey Development Trust news — Marianne @ June 14, 2016

Ellesmere Port Christmas Toy Appeal 2016 – donated toys can be dropped off at Stanlaw Abbey Business Centre during the hours of 8.30am – 5pm Monday to Friday. If you would like to help but do not have time to select a gift but would like to make a cash donation which will be used to purchase toys for the appeal please contact us on 0151-356-5896 or email

We want children benefiting from the Toy Appeal to have the same feeling we all like to feel when receiving a gift.  Whilst it is very generous of people to offer used toys, on this occasion we are sadly unable to take them, so only new toys in the original packaging please.

No toy is too big or too small we will find a grateful child to receive all of your gifts.  As we do not have the benefit of knowing children’s personal circumstances we would be grateful if toy weapons could not be donated on this occasion.

Children who will be receiving the gifts fall into the following categories: Under 12 months, 1 – 2 years, 3 – 4 years, 5 – 6 years, 7 – 8 years, 9 – 11 years, 12 -13 years, 14 – 16 years and 17 year old’s.

All toys donated to the Appeal will be wrapped and tagged appropriately for the child’s age and gender and collected by Cheshire West and Chester Council and then distributed via Cheshire West and Chester Council family support workers in time for Christmas Day.
